Poetry by Cathrine Hottran

A Child's Destiny

Another bomb has landed,
Politicians control the Butcher's knife,
Again they've destroyed
A precious and innocent life.

They slaughter in thousands,
Showing no signs of regret,
Claiming to have terminated
Another terrorist's threat.

Left behind is a little child,
So scared and all alone,
Too young to understand
What happened to his home.

Crying out for mama,
Longing for her warm embrace,
But no matter where he turns,
He can't find that familiar face.
